In the beginning, all the founder of Lifetime Products wanted was a sturdier basketball pole for his backyard. With this in mind, he found and purchased a piece of heavy-duty used pipe, a sheet of plywood, and a basketball rim. The result was a basketball standard for his backyard. That was 1972.
Seeing the potential that others might also desire a quality basketball system in their yards, he placed an ad in the "Big Nickel," the local free classified newspaper, and made his first sale. The rest — as they say — is history.
Not too many years after selling his first basketball system, he created the American PlayWorld company in 1973, which he based in his garage located in Riverdale, Utah. Gradually this store kept expanding into many more types of playground equipment, and was eventually moved to a bigger location in South Ogden, Utah.
Several years later, the company transformed the Basketball industry with the introduction of the Quick Adjust basketball pole — the first complete basketball system you could raise up and down with a broomstick.
In March 1986, a separate company was created to concentrate specifically on manufacturing adjustable basketball systems. This new company was named Lifetime Products, the name inspired by the goal of building a durable, lasting product.
Today, Lifetime Products, Inc., has applied innovation and cutting-edge technology in plastics and metals to create a family of affordable lifestyle products that feature superior strength and durability. I searched the web for this kind of table sort of out of season so it was hard to find. Also, the 4 size was rare. But Wayfair had it at an acceptable price. The customer service person I spoke with was knowledgeable and friendly. My first Wayfair purchase went very well. The table itself is sturdy, stable, well-made, and yet very portable. I used it to carry to and display items at a craft fair and later as an improvised dining table (with cloth over it). Adjustable height is a nice feature.

It is a stable, solid table that is light weight and easy to assemble and disassemble -- and easy to pack up and put away when you are not using it. I love it. I bought to to use as a cutting board for sewing. The legs extend high enough to be easy to use for cutting out fabric and putting projects together at a comfortable height. It can also be low enough to use flush with my sewing machine table to support quilting projects as I am quilting them. And it's priced right.

Table surface is textured/pebbly/un-smooth. But why? A smooth surface is so obviously needed for so many different uses and also for clean-up, so why then does Lifetime only offer an unsmooth surface? What possible advantage does a pebbly/unsmooth surface offer over a smooth surface? I can't think of any! (other than it's simply cheaper to produce--meaning manufacturer only cares about profit & not customer need & satisfaction) This is a ridiculous lack of understanding of design & and an insult to the user's needs. Lifetime: please read and understand the philosophy of Steve Jobs' book of management: Great design = great products = great profit margin. Duh.

Although one should never complain about free shipping, CSN did take 4 weeks to ship item. Unacceptable as I had an immediate need for the product. But as I also said, shipping was free and the price was outstanding! So there you go.....
